Adrian breathlessly ran through the winding tunnels of The Hub. Another encounter with The Keymaster was not something he was prepared for, especially if there was a risk of his mind being broken even further. He could not bear to see, hear, or think any more of these mad thoughts, or else he feared that he might lose himself completely.
The moment Adrian saw him, he knew he had to get out of there as fast as possible, putting as much distance between himself and The Keymaster as he could. His safest bet was Level 11, but he couldn't stay in one place for too long since The Keymaster could get anywhere in the Backrooms far more easily than he ever could.
Adrian's racing thoughts suddenly came to an abrupt halt along with his body as The Keymaster no-clipped through the wall in front of him and crashed into him. Adrian crumpled to the ground while The Keymaster remained still, unflinching and unfazed.
"Now, just where do you think you're running off to?" The Keymaster asked, crossing his arms as he looked down upon Adrian.
Adrian tried to reply, but all he could do was stutter and sputter with bewilderment. The Keymaster scoffed and helped Adrian onto his feet, dusting his shoulders off. "Make no mistake: you are quite worthless and disposable to me, and I doubt your disappearance will be mourned. Be that as it may, you might still be of use to me if you desire a semblance of normalcy once again."
Adrian raised an eyebrow apprehensively. "I'm listening..."
The Keymaster smirked, his teeth appearing to glint.
