Entity 45, AKA “Celeste”, is a humanoid entity of Highborn descent that may be commonly encountered across levels with natural outdoor environments. It seems that the entity is always in a frantic state, seeking different levels from time to time. This behavior is later explained by the diary entries retrieved from a recent encounter; written in cursive with perfect English and, interestingly, Arabic— thus confirming Entity 45’s ability to understand human language despite being commonly seen in a non-humanoid form. Said form is that of a deer not unlike one found in The Frontrooms— aside from eyes which reflect faint hues of pink, blue and yellow in a gradual, consecutive order.
The diary entries are crucial in deciphering the relationship the entity has with others, and the unique mannerisms she displays. Translations of several passages may be found under the section ‘Relations’.
Entity 45 appears to be skittish and reluctant to communicate. A likely deduction is that she fears wanderers, either backing off or keeping her distance once she sees them, though the same characteristics have also been observed towards other entities. Moreover, the entity is not usually observed in her humanoid form, instead assuming the guise of an ordinary deer. She may then go unnoticed unless she is in a level where no such creatures are able to be present. There are, however, many myths surrounding Entity 45 that may give further insight into her behavior (see section ‘Myths’). These myths cannot be confirmed as of yet, as the entity remains silent when prompted with direct conversation.
Although seemingly humanoid, Entity 45 does not express human needs such as food or water, but interestingly is much more fragile. Attempts to harm the entity have been met with varying degrees of success, though the entity will not attempt to fight back and only flees in response. Additionally, the disguise used by Entity 45 implies an ability to shapeshift, though other forms are yet to be documented; however, it is also theorized that she may only be able to shapeshift into a deer due to some form of limitation placed on her.
Entity 45’s blood is thought to be highly momentous, as myths have spoken of the blood being able to heal all kinds of injuries and ailments upon contact with skin. Observations and efforts to definitively confirm such claims are ongoing.
Entity 45 was first sighted in the modern day in Level 150, frolicking about the gardens in her disguise. However, various myths and legends indicate that her existence in The Backrooms predates even human habitation.

Philia: Philia is believed to be responsible for Celeste’s membership in the court. Accounts claim that Celeste was originally a subject beneath the tyrannical rule of The Eclipser before the court banished him. When The Eclipser’s enslaved subjects were liberated, Celeste was rescued by Philia, who eventually convinced the court to induct her as a member. Thus, she became the court’s Lady in Waiting.
The priestess of the court is wonderful. She rescued me in my darkest hour, and has done so much for me. I can only hope to repay half of her kindness to me in my servitude to the crown.
The Dark Sovereign: Of all the supposed members of the court, Celeste has the most prolific connections with the Dark Sovereign. This has led to the belief that she spends the most time around him.
More is yet to be discovered, though the entity rarely reveals any more detail within her writing. This may change as the rest of the pages are translated.
