They Who Seek
We seek from the one who sees all. He shall guide us to what we yearn for, embrace him! And reject humanity...

Description
They Who Seek, also known as "The Seekers" or "TWS", is a cultist group that worships an Empyrean named “He Who Sees”. The group was founded in the mid-1900s in which the followers seek to He Who Sees, AKA "The Seer" or "HWS", for immortality and any other things that they were promised by him, thus their name.
Though many join voluntarily, some wanderers are also threatened or manipulated into the cult, either by the group or HWS himself, who does so through minds of mortals, whether it’d be dreams, hallucinations, or any other conditions in which the victim is not mentally there. Those suffering from low sanity are advised to try to drink almond water and sleep as much as they can, as they are in higher risk of encountering these types of approaches from HWS than those who are well-rested and mentally stable.
As mentioned before, some wanderers are threatened or manipulated into the group, so members, especially ones in charge of a single division or team, may have ideologies that contradicts another’s ideas, as well as their demeanors. Because of this, when encountering a group from this cult, they may be neutral or outright hostile, so caution is advised.
Objective
The main goal of TWS is to convert and/or sacrifice enough people (preferably those who pose a threat) to HWS until he regains his former might. In the meantime, the other goal is to put a halt in the operations of other groups in the Backrooms as well, especially the M.E.G., so that they're weak enough to neutralize with ease when the time comes.
He Who Sees
A god pursuing perfection, seeking respite from eternal torment that will never come.
He Who Sees all lives in perpetual agony, lashing out against the world around him... in an attempt to stifle the light.
For with a god's observation does not come a god's comprehension.

Description
He Who Sees, who mentioned before is called "The Seer" or "HWS", was one of the many Empyreans who suffered from the Dawn Wars, unbeknownst to everyone who isn't an Empyrean or any other mythical entity.
HWS happened to die in the war, but for unknown reasons, was brought back to life not long after. Now blinded by rage and vengeance for what happened to him, he attempts to get anything he wants done through his cultists, by any means necessary.
Behavior
HWS could be described as very prideful, ruthless, cold and calculating. He shows no remorse for any immoral actions he's committed against anyone and anything, and not afraid to sacrifice any pawns of his own. He has a huge dislike for human and other similar beings like facelings, almost pitying them for being one of the most "weakest creatures" in any universes he's been to, but because they're one of the few things that he has available to him to command, he has no choice but to be tolerant to most of them when they encounter him.
Despite being an Empyrean, HWS is all but the most powerful thing in the Backrooms. Because of his death, followed by a revival after the Dawn Wars, his power has been reduced to a mere fraction of its former self. Certainly, if another Empyrean were to battle with HWS, that Empyrean would most likely win.
However, this does not mean HWS isn't currently the one of the most dangerous entity in the Backrooms by far, as he has the following abilities, which would match up with some to most mythical entities:
- Nigh-omniscience
- Intangibility
- Instantaneous Teleportation
- Reality-warping abilities
- The (Self-proclaimed) Star of Perfection
Because of his weakened state, though, he cannot actively go out to other levels, as he can be defeated by any possible encounters with mythical entities, and despite The Star of Perfection being one of the most powerful weapons in the Backrooms, one that can be used to reduce anything to dust, its use is very limited. The same could be said for his teleportation abilities, so he hides in Level 94, where the main base of TWS resides.
Biology
Due to the nature of the Empyreans, as well as their population state and rarity, it's almost impossible to determine HWS' biology. However, a picture drawn by an unnamed wanderer depicts HWS' appearance with a flaming head, one eye on the forehead, two on both arms, and one on the chest. One of his two glowing eyes also glows.
Discovery
In the month of December, 2022, a boy from the Backrooms Colonists named Mike Hillben was exploring Level 94 when he found clues to Empyreans, TWS, and HWS' existence, scattered across the level. Mike soon found the main base of TWS, interrupting an on-going ritual, and angering the cultists as a result. Since then, Mike has been trying to get the M.E.G. to help extinguish the cult through emails to no avail.
Rankings
The rankings of TWS goes as follows:
- He Who Sees
- The High Priests (not to be mistaken with their lower counterpart, "The Priests")
- The Priests
- The Generals
- The Soldiers
- The Disciples
Divisions
The following mentions noteworthy divisions of TWS:
The High Priests
Being the highest only division to have direct contact to HWS, the two make the big decisions for other divisions to follow. There are currently 5 of these priests who are in this division.
The Disciples
The goal of the disciples is to convert random wanderers of the Backrooms into the group, whether it's through convincing or manipulation. Of course, if the wanderer is already affiliated with another group, that person is either left alone or killed upon finding out this information, depending on the demeanor and how much information this person had found out about the cult.
The Force That Expels
Also known as FTE, The Force That Expels is the military and security division for TWS. FTE's goal is to put a stop to any operations that the M.E.G. and other groups allied to the M.E.G. have active, as well as gaining any information in those groups that TWS would otherwise never know about through espionage.
